The British Thyroid Foundation supports patients of thyroid conditions by providing information, raising awareness, setting up local support groups and funding research. Each year they offer an award of £10,000 to enable medical researchers to supplement existing projects or for pump priming existing research ideas.

The award is designated for a project specifically directed to the study of thyroid disorders, or an investigation into the basic understanding of thyroid function. Studies funded through this funding stream are eligible for inclusion in the NIHR Clinical Research Network Portfolio and therefore able to access NHS support via the NIHR Clinical Research Network infrastructure.

The closing date for applications is 31 August 2010. Please folow the link below for more information.
